A Writing Entry – What the Heck Happened to Publishing?

Okay, first I think I’m going to have to switch my posting day from Wednesday to Thursday for completely selfish reasons that have to do with my newly scheduled demon-slaying. I’ll still aim for Saturday/Sunday though, with Sunday being more likely. Saturday nights I generally stay up too late pretending I’m a superhero.

Right, to the matter at hand…

Shameless Self-Promotion – End of the Year Review

So the year is about to close out and my posting has really tapered off. I apologize and will try to pick up the pace, but there are major upheavals upcoming in my life and should hit right around the Chinese New Year (Year of the Yang Fire Monkey). How long it will take to settle into a new normal and what that might be, I just don’t know. I’ll do my best, anyway.

A Media Entry – All Hail the Pumpkin King!

Ideally, I’d be hyping up my new “Nevermore and the Ravens” novel and providing links and enthusiasm. But life didn’t cooperate with my self-imposed deadlines, so alas I have nothing to shill for you. But unlike last year I do have a costume party to go to, which is a nice change of pace. No, I’m not a superhero, but I really wanted to be.

But anyway, social interaction aside, here are a few more of my favorite Halloween-themed pieces of media. Remember, I’m squeamish, so these are in a more light-hearted vein than horror movies.

A Writing Entry – Admitting Defeat

Well, here I am, at the beginning of October at the point in which I should be getting the final edits done to my latest “Nevermore and the Ravens” book. “Should” is the key word in that sentence. I am nowhere near ready to get my latest novel published. I thought I could make up time; I thought I could overcome repeated writer’s blocks, but I have not. Don’t get me wrong; I am going to finish this novel, but I am disappointed I couldn’t do so in a timely manner. My deadline is self-imposed but I do try to take it seriously.

My Fiction – A Tale of Two Kitties

Apologies for missing Wednesday; I was distracted by a small monster, an ancient grizzly bear, and crab rangoon. These things happen.

This story was published in the October 2012 edition of “Pagan Edge.” I’ll warn you, this one is somewhat sad and unfortunately based on some real-life experiences. I’ll admit it; I have a real soft spot for animals (and currently own two black cats because superstitions be damned). So, a bit of a bummer for the entry, but I’ll try to be more lighthearted later.

A Writing Entry – Lack of Focus (i.e. Writer’s Block Again)

I blame my Muse. I have given myself a deadline to have a new book published and my Muse teases me with bits and pieces and then abandons me for long periods of time and Free Cell (and Plants vs Zombies). I have a little more than three months to have this thing ready and I have no songs and only half the tracks written.

Shameless Self-Promotion – Happy New Year!

So 2014 went out with a few last-minute stings, and as the song says, “Maybe this year will be better than the last,” but 2015 started off with a friend of mine getting hit by a car (he’s fine).   So I wasn’t feeling very optimistic.  But today I celebrate a milestone – Necromancy for the Greater Good has reached 1,000 downloads!

I’ve reached quadruple digits!1!!!!!11!!

I feel like I’m inching closer to my dream.  So, I do indeed hope that this year is better than the last, for myself, and for everyone out there.
